Received the St Martyns Scholarship 1986 to St Marys College Secondary School, Galway based on the entrance examination.


Received the Eli Lilly Chemistry prize 1992 for achieving first place in the First Science Chemistry Examination.


Was the recipient of the 1994 Ireland-United States Council Scholarship from NUIGalway.


Received 1st prize in the poster competition at The Royal Society of Chemistry, Perkin Division, Heterocyclic Group 15th Lakeland Symposium, Grasmere, 10-14th May 2001. The poster was based on post doctoral research carried out at Loughborough University.
